2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old and old enough to consent to the Services under the law where you live. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity on your account and should tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
• You may sign in using supported identity providers, including Apple or Google. Their own terms also apply to their services.

3. What Revise provides

Revise helps users draft, rewrite, adjust, proofread, and organise writing. Features vary by platform, subscription, device, browser, host application, language, and release version. Some features require an internet connection, an account, a paid subscription, or a platform permission.

We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or replace features. We will provide reasonable notice when a material change adversely affects a paid subscription, unless immediate action is needed for security, legal compliance, provider availability, or service integrity.

4. Chrome and keyboard integrations

The Chrome extension and iPhone keyboard operate inside other applications. Their ability to read, replace, or insert text depends on the permissions you grant and the capabilities of the browser, website, or host application.

The iPhone keyboard remains available for ordinary typing without Full Access. Cloud rewriting requires Full Access, a signed-in Revise account, and the required Revise privacy consent. Revise is designed to transmit only text you deliberately select and submit for a Revise action, not every keystroke you type. You can disable Full Access or remove the keyboard in iOS Settings.

You are responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to submit text from another application, document, message, workplace, or third party to Revise.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of text, documents, instructions, examples, and other material you submit to the Services, called "User Content". Subject to any rights held by another person, you also retain your rights in text you choose to keep after using Revise.

You give Revise a limited, worldwide licence to host, copy, transmit, process, modify, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, synchronise, and improve the Services, provide requested AI output, and provide Personal Voice when you opt in. This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted from active systems, subject to limited backup, legal, security, and provider retention described in the Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and that doing so does not violate law, confidentiality duties, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or an agreement with another person.

6. AI-generated content

Revise uses third-party artificial intelligence providers to generate and analyse text. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, unsuitable, or similar to content generated for another user. Revise does not guarantee that output is factually correct, original, or fit for a particular purpose.

• Review output before you use, publish, send, or rely on it.
• Do not treat Revise output as legal, medical, financial, employment, academic, or other professional advice.
• You remain responsible for decisions, communications, submissions, and publications made using the Services.
• Revise may use automated safety systems and may decline or limit a request.

7. Personal Voice

Personal Voice is an optional personalisation system you turn on as a single choice covering the uses available to your account and shown before you consent. Available uses vary by plan. It can learn from accepted rewrites, from edits you make after applying a rewrite, and from eligible writing you author within a Revise writing flow. Where Revise provides individual learning controls, you can narrow them afterwards. Personal Voice may store examples, learning evidence, embeddings, and a derived writing profile as explained in the Privacy Policy.

You can turn Personal Voice off, pause use of your voice, stop an individual kind of future learning, delete your writing profile, delete learning evidence, reset learned settings, or delete your account using the controls Revise provides. Stopping future learning does not by itself delete information already saved. Personal Voice may not reproduce your style perfectly and its effect can vary between requests and models.

8. Acceptable use

You must use the Services lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

• use the Services to violate another person's rights or applicable law;
• submit content that you are not authorised to disclose to Revise and its processing providers;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, models, usage limits, or paid features;
• probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or circumvent security or technical controls except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• use automated means to access the Services at a volume or in a manner not expressly supported by Revise;
• misrepresent AI-generated content in a way that is unlawful or deceptive; or
• use the Services to distribute malware, facilitate abuse, or cause harm.

We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users or the Services, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

9. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans provide the features, usage allowances, and subscription period shown at purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Prices and taxes are shown by the seller or platform before purchase.

Apple App Store subscriptions

Apple processes App Store purchases. You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription through your Apple account. Apple's payment, cancellation, and refund rules apply. Deleting your Revise account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription, so cancel it separately through Apple if you do not want it to renew.

Web subscriptions

Stripe processes subscriptions purchased directly from Revise on the web. You can manage or cancel an eligible web subscription through your Revise account or the Stripe billing portal. Revise does not receive your complete payment-card number.

Cross-platform access and refunds

Where supported, a subscription is associated with your Revise account so eligible features can be used across supported platforms. Restore Purchases may be required for an App Store purchase. Refund requests are handled by the seller that processed the transaction and are subject to mandatory consumer rights.

10. Third-party services

The Services depend on third parties such as Apple, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, Microsoft, Cloudflare, and email, analytics, infrastructure, and distribution providers. Their services and terms may apply separately. Revise is not responsible for third-party products or services outside our reasonable control.

11. Revise intellectual property and feedback

Revise and its licensors own the Services, software, visual design, branding, and related intellectual property, excluding User Content and third-party material. These Terms grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services in accordance with your plan and these Terms.

If you voluntarily provide feedback, you allow Revise to use it without restriction or payment. This does not give Revise ownership of your User Content.

12. Availability and warranties

We aim to provide reliable Services, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided as available and without implied warranties that can legally be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits guarantees, warranties, or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

13. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to that rule and to the extent permitted by law, Revise is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, business, opportunity, goodwill, or data arising from your use of the Services. For paid Services, Revise's total liability arising from the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to Revise for the affected Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Suspension, termination, and account deletion

You may stop using the Services at any time. You may initiate account deletion from the account settings made available in Revise. Account deletion removes the account and associated active-service data as described in the Privacy Policy, but does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create risk or harm, fail to pay amounts due, or if suspension is reasonably necessary for security or legal compliance. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

15. Additional terms for the iPhone app

Your licence to the Revise iPhone app is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless Revise presents a different Apple-compliant licence. Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting Revise. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the applicable app licence and may enforce it against you.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, security needs, or business practices. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through the Services, by email, or on our website. Changes apply from the stated effective date. If you do not agree to a material change, you should stop using the Services and cancel any subscription.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that consumers may also be entitled to bring proceedings in their country of residence and retain any mandatory protections provided by local law.
